Bright Spots: February
As the saying goes, a picture’s worth a thousand words. These are some bright spots I shared this past month on Instagram with tips, musings, and fun tidbits I think you’ll like. Follow along here.
1.) True life: my inner critic is an asshole and the struggle is real. I tell my clients the only difference between us and the folks on the corner screaming at invisible people, is that they are saying it out loud. We keep that noise bottled up in our head. #letthatshitgo
2.) I had my second Reiki session, and she said that my energy was playful and able to flow left to right. What a relief! It’s so interesting to recognize when I bundle up my emotions and *power through* to get things done, it’s the whole right/wrong context that I’m breaking up this year. I’m taking a cue from these chakra stones, seeing how balance plays into my energy, work, and approach to next week, which includes a big event and travel! #livebrightly
3.) Sure, I talk about your *true authentic self, your personal essence,* but I’m not here to blow glitter up your a**, Pinterest can do that. I want to work with women who are down for real tangible change, ready to dive in, get messy and real, real quick. On March 1, Jessica Zweig and I are hosting our 2nd SimplyBe Bright workshop. 4.) Busy for busy sake is a great way to hide. Slapped-on-happy is another. If you’re with me, let’s explore what it means to be truly authentic, real, vulnerable and see how we can blend our work + life + desires. It’s possible, but you have to practice. This is me practicing at our last personal branding workshop. Guess what you can’t see? I had bronchitis, I was filled with speedy medicine and not feeling myself, but I recognized that, for this moment, this is who I was, me, all dressed up, sick, but practicing. 5.) I’m sharing my experience with burnout and how it manifests in our lives over on the Refined Haystack blog. From “The Busy Season” to double-booking, how we shoot ourselves in the foot by not setting intentions and being mindful of what our body is saying to us. I’m a believer in a work+life blend, in the same way I believe in mind+body+spirit. Creating tangible goals with your best interest in mind is going to generate more clients, a lighter pep in your step and room for discovery and creativity. Isn’t that why we creative entrepreneurs got into this business? To be creative?
6.) Ever notice how you try hard *enough*. How everything would be a success *if*. Our biggest limitation is ourselves. Get curious when you stop and what you are attracting in your life as a result of this type of self-limiting thinking. I have 3 clients who are currently exploring the law of attraction, focusing on pulling resources, ideas, connections and deals towards them with positive thinking. Maybe it’s that easy. #livebrightly
